Setting Apple App Info Tasks

‌‌
This endpoint will provide you with information about the App Store application specified in the app_id field of the POST request.

The app_id parameter can be found on the App Store website as a part of a URL pointing to a specific mobile application. It consists of numbers indicated after id in the URL string. For example, here is the URL of the TikTok app on the App Store:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id835599320

The app_id of this app is 835599320

Instead of ‘login’ and ‘password’ use your credentials from https://app.dataforapps.com/api-dashboard

<?php
// You can download this file from here https://cdn.dataforapps.com/v3/examples/php/php_RestClient.zip
require('RestClient.php');
$api_url = 'https://api.dataforapps.com/';
// Instead of 'login' and 'password' use your credentials from https://app.dataforapps.com/api-dashboard
$client = new RestClient($api_url, null, 'login', 'password');

$post_array = array();
// example #1 - a simple way to set a task
$post_array[] = array(
    "app_id": "835599320",
    "location_code": 2840,
    "language_code": "en"
);
// example #2 - a way to set a task with additional parameters
// high priority allows us to complete a task faster, but you will be charged more money.
// after a task is completed, we will send a GET request to the address you specify. Instead of $id and $tag, you will receive actual values that are relevant to this task.
$post_array[] = array(
   "app_id" => "835599320",
   "priority" => 2,
   "location_code" => 2840,
   "language_code" => "en"
);
// example #3 - an alternative way to set a task
// after a task is completed, we will send the results according to the address you set in the 'postback_url' field.
$post_array[] = array(
   "app_id" => "835599320",
   "location_code" => 2840,
   "language_code" => "en",
   "postback_data" => "advanced",
   "postback_url" => "https://your-server.com/postbackscript"
);
// this example has a 2 elements, but in the case of large number of tasks - send up to 100 elements per POST request
if (count($post_array) > 0) {
   try {
      // POST /v3/app_data/apple/app_info/task_post
      $result = $client->post('/v3/app_data/apple/app_info/task_post', $post_array);
      print_r($result);
      // do something with post result
   } catch (RestClientException $e) {
      echo "n";
      print "HTTP code: {$e->getHttpCode()}n";
      print "Error code: {$e->getCode()}n";
      print "Message: {$e->getMessage()}n";
      print  $e->getTraceAsString();
      echo "n";
   }
}
$client = null;
?>

All POST data should be sent in the JSON format (UTF-8 encoding). Task setting is done using the POST method. When setting a task, you should send all task parameters in the task array of the generic POST array. You can send up to 2000 API calls per minute, with each POST call containing no more than 100 tasks. If your POST call contains over 100 tasks, the tasks over this limit will return the 40006 error.

You can retrieve the results of completed tasks using the unique task identifier id. Alternatively, we can send them to you as soon as they are ready if you specify the postback_url or pingback_url when setting a task. Note that if your server doesn’t respond within 10 seconds, the connection will be aborted by timeout, and the task will be transferred to the ‘Tasks Ready’ list. The error code and message depend on your server’s configuration.

Below you will find a detailed description of the fields you can use for setting a task.

Description of the fields for setting a task:

Field name Type Description
app_id string id of the app
required field
ID of the mobile application on App Store;
you can find the ID in the URL of every app listed on App Store;
example:
in the URL https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id835599320
the id is 835599320
location_name string full name of search engine location
required field if you don’t specify location_code
if you use this field, you don’t need to specify location_code
you can receive the list of available locations of the search engine with their location_name by making a separate request to https://api.dataforapps.com/v3/app_data/apple/locations
example:
West Los Angeles,California,United States
location_code integer search engine location code
required field if you don’t specify location_name
if you use this field, you don’t need to specify location_name
you can receive the list of available locations of the search engine with their location_code by making a separate request to https://api.dataforapps.com/v3/app_data/apple/locations
example:
9061121
language_name string full name of search engine language
optional field
if you use this field, you don’t need to specify language_code
you can receive the list of available languages with language_name by making a separate request to https://api.dataforapps.com/v3/app_data/apple/languages
example:
English
language_code string search engine language code
optional field
if you use this field, you don’t need to specify language_name
you can receive the list of available languages with their language_code by making a separate request to https://api.dataforapps.com/v3/app_data/apple/languages
example:
en
priority integer task priority
optional field
can take the following values:
1 – normal execution priority (set by default)
2 – high execution priority

tag string user-defined task identifier
optional field
the character limit is 255
you can use this parameter to identify the task and match it with the result
you will find the specified tag value in the data object of the response
postback_url string return URL for sending task results
optional field
once the task is completed, we will send a POST request with its results compressed in the gzip format to the postback_url you specified
you can use the ‘$id’ string as a $id variable and ‘$tag’ as urlencoded $tag variable. We will set the necessary values before sending the request.
example:
http://your-server.com/postbackscript?id=$id
http://your-server.com/postbackscript?id=$id&tag=$tag
Note: special symbols in postback_url will be urlencoded;
i.a., the # symbol will be encoded into %23
postback_data string postback_url datatype
required field if you specify postback_url
corresponds to the datatype that will be sent to your server
possible values:
advanced
pingback_url string notification URL of a completed task
